HOW YOU CAN HELP

We have lots of ongoing projects going on in Liberia. Please donate or volunteer with us.

The Problem

The devastating Liberian civil conflict destroyed the social, economic, and political fabrics of the country, leaving the educational and other basic infrastructures in ruin. The Liberian government and its international partners are working to rebuild the crumbling infrastructures, but the tasks are huge and seem insurmountable. Overcoming these challenges need others to join in the rebuilding efforts. Many of the schools are operating with limited resources; the rural schools lack basic school supplies, classrooms furniture and equipment. Although most parts of the country do not have roads, access to safe drinking water, healthcare, and electricity, when parents and children were asked to identify the most important need they would like to address, the answer is simply education. Parents and children see education as a pathway to a better future and One Bench at a Time wants to play a part of developing a better future for rural communities across Liberia.

Get to Know Us

Founded in 2011, One Bench at a Time’s mission is to ensure that kids of school-going age have access to benches, school supplies, and other classroom equipment that will lead to educational successes in towns and villages throughout rural Liberia.

We know that after years of conflict, one of the most important aspects of rebuilding Liberia is giving needy Liberian children the needed educational supports that ensure a good education for a better future.
